Idea:
The waving flag is the backdrop for the monument to the fallen shipyard workers. The shape of the building and its material refer to the hulls of ships built in the Gdańsk shipyard. The posts and the vault of the patio are an allegory of an interpersonal community.
Function:
The entrance hall is a zone that acts as an extension of the public space - Solidarności Square. The ground floor, apart from the exhibition zones and multimedia rooms, also houses a restaurant and a bookstore. The center has permanent museum exhibition rooms, temporary exhibition rooms, 2 multi-functional rooms for 600 people as well as office and accompanying spaces.
